Family Love – Rachelle and Michael

Sometimes, when you see something inspirational on TV, you know you just gotta be a part of it. I was flipping through the local news channel when I saw my coworker, Rachelle, and her husband going through a hearing process to adopt Malia and Jelani. It was what Malia said that really moved me – “I just want everybody to know the kids you think that will give you a really hard time but they will bring joy.” You can see the news piece here  (http://www.kvue.com/news/Thirty-seven-foster-children-permanently-adopted–106730969.html). What came next was my offer to photograph them, and a year of planning (well… most of it was conflict of our busy schedules).  I guess good things do come to those who wait. They brought balloons, streamer strings, body paints, and fun. I brought two other talented photographers, Eric (visiting from Salt Lake City), and my partner in crime, Hieu. What ended up was a ton of fun, and a photo shoot I won’t ever forget. Please enjoy a bunch of photos from the shoot.

For this photo below, I slit my jeans climbing on the fence, lol. This running photo below was planned and photographed by Eric. Thanks dude!!NOW THE FUN BEGINS!!!!!One of my favorites!!
HAHAHAHAHAH!! IN THE FACE, AND IN THE CROTCH!!! I believed Malia is saying “OMG, this is sooooo friggin’ awesome!!!”
And some dramatic family photos!!I made a scheduling boo boo that day, which ended up with another shoot right after this one. Big thanks to Eric and Hieu, who helped out with both of the photo shoots that day.
