Last week, I had an opportunity to cover the Summer Food Service Program Kickoff that was organized by Capital Area Food Bank of Texas, in collaboration with Chef David Bull. This is their second year of collaboration to fill the summer lunch gap for thousands of kids who normally would receive free or reduced school lunches during the year. The great thing about it is that each child’s meal would only cost $3 to make, but still meet the nutritional guidelines for the program. It was fun for me running around snapping photos of these smiling kids as well as the wonderful volunteers. Please enjoy some of the photos from the day.
