Holi

My friends and I dropped by the UT campus on Saturday to check out Holi, an Indian’s religious festival, being celebrated by hundreds, if not a thousand students. According to Wikipedia, Holi indicates the end of the winter, and the beginning of the spring season, and people throw colored powder and water balloon at each other. Originally, the throwing of the powder has medicinal significance due to the change in seasons that causes fever and cold, however, modern day powder is based more on baby powder mixed with water coloring. There’s also more significances to this holiday, and you can read them here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holi. Please enjoy some of the photos from this past Saturday.
