Wedding – Musarrat and Amer

A few weeks ago, my friend, Hieu, and I had an opportunity to photograph the wedding of Musarrat and Amer at the Al-Mahdi Center here in Northwest Austin. Upon entering this Islamic Center, I thought it’s pretty much like a Buddhist temple where it serves as a place of worship, as well as a weekend school for the youth. Everyone there was very polite and helpful in giving us tips and pointers throughout the 3 hours celebration. Due to their Islamic custom, we were not allowed to photograph the bride, Musarrat, from the beginning until almost toward the end of the night when the groom, Amer, met up with the bride. For about two hours, there were a lot of recitations of the Sura-e-Rehman, the Qaseeda, speeches by the brothers, as well as the Nikah ceremony. What I remember from Brother Abbas Bandali’s speech was that two individuals are insignificance alone, just like the elements H and O on the periodic table. However, when combine together, they make up the most essential element of life – H2O, aka “water”.  Indeed, brother, indeed!

Enjoy some of the pictures taken by Hieu and I! I will have more up later on.

I think this photo below is awesome for its composition, yeah?
She looks like a doll!!This photo below makes me LOL every time!

Hieu and I were just having a little fun with Amer and Musarrat! I know what you’re thinking… that’s a nice watch I’m wearing, right? :D
